.DISCUSSION...
Overall, the models initialize well and are in good agreement out
through the weekend.

Central and Eastern Interior: Showers have generally tapered off
around Fairbanks this afternoon. Snow showers will continue this
evening north of Fairbanks with the showers expected to taper off
completely after midnight. With the cloud cover reducing
overnight, we expect some issues with fog overnight, especially
in areas where rain fell this morning. The fog may be locally
dense (although we will hold off on issuing any advisories for
dense fog for now due to lower confidence). The next system will
begin to affect the are Friday as winds increase in the Alaska
Range. Winds will reach advisory levels in the eastern Alaska
Range tomorrow with the strongest winds expected for Friday
evening. Winds in the eastern Alaska Range could gust as high as
65 mph. The ongoing wind advisory for the eastern Alaska Range
looks to be in good shape. The next system will bring another
round of precipitation for Saturday night and Sunday. Snow levels
with this system look to around 2000 feet. As such, the
precipitation type in Fairbanks is expected to be rain; however,
in the higher elevations north of Fairbanks up to 2 inches of
snowfall is possible.

North Slope and Brooks Range: Some snow showers are expected this
evening. Easterly winds are expected to continue along the coast
although the speeds will decrease somewhat this evening.

West Coast and Western Interior: A persistent low in the Bering
Sea will bring several rounds of precipitation through the
weekend. The first shortwave will push through into the Yukon
Delta this evening and will push north on Friday. Another round of
rainfall is expected for Sunday. A 985 mb low moving north in the
Bering Sea will cause easterly winds to increase along the
coast tonight with gusts of 25 to 35 mph possible. Winds will
decrease tomorrow afternoon as the low pushes off to the west.

Coastal Hazard Potential Days 3 and 4...None.
