At the sensor along the Chief Joseph highway, winds were sustained at over 50 mph for 3 hours with wind gusts as high as 83 mph. Meanwhile, a mountain wave broke near Clark and brought very strong winds. There were several wind gusts of hurricane force, including a maximum of 96 mph.
