A very active monsoonal trough generated strong northerly winds across American Samoa. The Weather Service Office in Tafuna recorded maximum sustained winds of 31 knots with gusts up to 45 knots. Damages to large trees, plantations, power-lines, and several roofs of homes and private businesses were impacted by these strong winds. No injuries or fatalities reported.
