VFR conditions will continue through the TAF period. Cirrus debris
from thunderstorms in the Texas panhandle may stream across
southwest Oklahoma this evening. Otherwise, south/south-southwest
winds will weaken and back to the south/south-southeast overnight;
however, winds are expected to veer back to the south-southwest
and become gusty again by tomorrow afternoon.

DISCUSSION...
We extended the Heat Advisory for much of the area through Friday
and may be extended through Saturday. An Excessive Heat Warning
has been issued for much of central and northern Oklahoma where
heat indices will be maximized the next couple of days. This is an
area that has seen minimal rainfall the past couple of weeks, thus
the near ground level air is warming much more efficiently, and it
is downstream of very moist conditions due to recent flooding
rainfall. All models are fairly similar in bring in a backdoor
cold front by late Saturday which will help take the edge off of
the heat. The humidity will still be high so we should not let our
guard down for the possibility of heat highlights.
As far as storm chances, we will continue low pops across western
and northern parts of Oklahoma through this evening. Even though
storms are expected to be isolated, extreme CAPE values will lead
to the possibility of large hail and especially damaging wind
gusts. Building heights through the weekend into next week should
preclude the mentioning of anything other than diurnally driven
and isolated storms.
