.DISCUSSION...

Current/Tonight...
Radar/Sat imagery shows the east coast sea breeze bndry pushing well
inland south of U.S. Hwy 192...lagging back to just west of I-95
north 192. Active tstorm complex along the east shore of Lake-O with
the lake/seabreeze interaction...but elsewhere activity is rather
subdued. The prevailing H85-H50 steering flow remains quite weak...
AOB 5KTS acrs most of the central peninsula. Bermuda ridge axis
extending from the FL Panhandle to NE of the Bahama Bank will
maintain a deep, albeit weak, S/SE flow that will focus the bulk of
aftn/evng convection over the interior counties.

Weak mid lvl vort/upr lvl div will combine with an H70 thermal cap
(temps arnd 10C) to impede convective growth thru late aftn. Will
need additional mesoscale boundary interaction for any strong tstorm
activity to dvlp...namely the west coast sea breeze or outflow
boundaries from ongoing convection west of I-75. Potential is there
as H50 temps btwn -7C/-8C are generating H70-H50 lapse rates btwn
6.0C/KM along and north of I-4...6.5-7.0C/KM to the south. H85-H30
omega analysis suggests highest storm potential along and west of
the Florida Turnpike, but the weak steering flow will limit overall
coverage AOB 40pct. Convection may linger past sunset due to the
late day initialization, mainly west of a line from Lake George to
Lake Marian to Lake-O, but should be done by 02Z.

Once again...will need include slgt chc of shras for the Treasure
Coast aft 06Z as low lvl onshore flow will maintain the potential
for isold shras to form in the wake eddies downwind of the nrn
Bahamas. Elsewhere, quiet WX from late evng thru dawn. Srly winds
will keep sfc dewpoints in the L/M70s...min temps on the same order.

Wed-Thu...
Little change in the ongoing WX pattern thru midweek. Upr lvl
analysis reveals a relatively weak jet pattern acrs the nrn
hemisphere...with a few localized exceptions, H30-H20 winds are
largely aob 80KTS with maxes located north of the 40th parallel.
Tropical jet is almost non-existent outside of a 40KT jet streak
straddling the Hawaiian islands. Bermuda ridge over north FL may
meander acrs the FL/GA border from time to time but will remain
largely in place as the upr lvl wind pattern will force any short
wave trofs acrs the nrn tier states.

Position of the ridge will tend to limit daily convective coverage
along the coast, highest chances inland where mesoscale boundary
interactions will spark sct shra/tsra activity. Prevailing E/SE
steering flow will concentrate diurnal convection over the west FL
peninsula. PoPs will remain aob 40pct on Wed as a local slug of deep
lyr moisture over south FL/nrn Bahamas works its way acrs the state.
PoPs aob 30pct on Thu as dry mid lvl air over the central/srn
Bahamas pushes into the region. PoPs along the immediate coast will
be limited to isold shras/tsras that can dvlp along the
seabreeze...Space/Treasure Coasts also may see isold nocturnal shras
that form over the Gulf Stream and push onshore in the prevailing
onshore flow.

The persistent high pressure ridge has provided an extended period
of S/SE flow over the lcl Atlc, especially over the Treasure Coast
waters. This parallel-to-shore direction is favorable for cold water
upwelling over the continental shelf waters. With the high pressure
ridge positioned over north FL...S/SE winds should start to cause
some upwelling along the Space Coast and maybe even reaching the
Volusia county waters. Max temps U80s/L90s along the coast...L/M90s
inland. Min temps L/M70s.

Fri-Mon...(prev disc)
A persistence forecast with only minor shifts in the stagnant
pattern as forecast area remains awash in SE-S maritime flow.
Continued rather warm especially for inland locations... daytime
temps L/M90s except U80s immediate coast. Mins M/U70s. POPs below
climo as embedded east coast sea breeze ushers quickly inland.

.MARINE...
Bermuda ridge axis over the FL panhandle and extending into the
Sargasso Sea will generate a prevailing light to gentle E/SE breeze
acrs the lcl Atlc into the weekend...ocnl moderate near the coast in
the aftn...S/SW from the Cape nwd overnight as the nocturnal land
breeze dvlps. Favorable boating conds with little change in current
sea state...some short pd wind chop may dvlp over the intracoastal
and nearshore Atlc waters with the sea breeze. Seas AOB 2FT
nearshore and 2-3FT offshore.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
ISOLATED LIGHTNING STORMS WILL DEVELOP AS THE EAST COAST SEA BREEZE
MOVES INLAND ACROSS THE TREASURE COAST THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON.
STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP TOWARD THE NORTH AND WEST THROUGH
THE AFTERNOON, BECOMING SCATTERED IN COVERAGE AND FOCUS ON INTERIOR
AREAS FROM OKEECHOBEE NORTHWARD TO LAKE COUNTY.

THE MAIN THREATS FROM STORMS TODAY WILL BE DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING. A FEW STORMS RESULTING FROM BOUNDARY COLLISIONS MAY
PRODUCE FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING, SMALL HAIL, AND WIND
GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH. STORMS WILL ALSO BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A QUICK
1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME.

.EXCESSIVE HEAT IMPACT...
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL COMBINE TO
PRODUCE PEAK HEAT INDEX VALUES AROUND 105 THIS AFTERNOON GENERALLY
ACROSS AREAS INLAND FROM THE COAST. IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS, DRINK
PLENTY OF WATER AND TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS OUT OF THE SUN.

.MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
LIGHTNING STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER LAND AND AFFECT
MAINLY INLAND LAKES, HOWEVER, A FEW WIND GUSTS FROM THUNDERSTORM
OUTFLOWS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE TREASURE COAST LATE THIS MORNING
AND EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AS THE SEA BREEZE DEVELOPS AND MOVES
INLAND. A FEW LIGHTNING STORMS MAY PRODUCE WIND GUSTS AROUND 35
KNOTS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.
SCATTERED TO ISOLATED STORMS REMAIN IN THE FORECAST THIS UPCOMING
WEEK, MAINLY OVER INTERIOR SECTIONS. ANY SUMMER STORMS THAT
DEVELOP WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LOCAL HEAVY RAINFALL, STRONG
GUSTY WINDS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED TODAY.
