Isentropic upglide of warm moist air over a cold airmass at the surface led to freezing drizzle, light freezing rain, sleet, and snow flurries across the area. The first report of sleet was at 3:15 am in Bexar county. Winter weather spread across central and eastern portions of the region through the morning hours. Icy conditions on roadways caused accidents near Smithville. Icy conditions were also observed on bridges, overpasses, and intersections elsewhere in Bastrop County, along I-10 near Flatonia in Fayette County, and on the bridges over the Guadalupe River in Guadalupe County. The last report of winter weather was of snow flurries at 10:49 am in Burnet.
