The very persistent and strong northwest flow that started during the afternoon of the 27th caused blowout tide conditions during the morning low tide cycle on the 28th along tidal sections of the Delaware River in New Jersey. In Philadelphia, the low tide reached 1.87 feet below mean lower low water; in Burlington (Burlington County), 1.90 feet below mean lower low water and on Newbold Island (Bucks County) 1.84 feet below mean lower low water. Blowout tides start at all locations at 1.80 feet below mean lower low water.
