Snow became heavy over Homestake Pass around noon and was closed due to 12 semi-trailer trucks stuck on the pass. DOT officials reported 8 to 10 inches of wet heavy snow throughout this event and at one point they had 4 snow plows out at Homestake Pass. There were approximately 14 crashes/slideoffs from around 9 am to 10 pm within the area. This includes two jack-knifed semis, both on Homestake Pass.
