Cold northwest winds blowing across Lake Erie caused lake effect snow showers to develop during the late evening hours of November 11th. Intermittent snow continued on the 12th with the intensity of the snow increasing during the late afternoon and evening hours. Visibilities were less than a half mile at times with snowfall rates in excess of an inch per hour. The snow showers tapered off during the early morning hours of the 13th. Accumulations of 6 to 10 inches were reported over portions of eastern Crawford County. A peak total of 13.7 inches was reported near Titusville.
