What happened

The episode as NWS MSO wrote it up.

A three day period of moderate precipitation from Nov. 2 through Nov. 4, brought up to two inches of precipitation and up to a foot and a half of snowfall across the Clearwater Mountains. Many locations didn't have much snow on the ground and this storm helped to start the 2013/2014 snowpack. A second cold core upper level trough brought another round of snow showers down to the 3,000 ft. level across much of north-central Idaho on Nov. 4th.
