What happened

The episode as NWS GLD wrote it up.

Strong wind gusts of 45-55 MPH during the late morning stirred up a large cloud of dirt over Crowley and Otero counties. The cloud of dust was pushed east-northeast by the strong wind gusts. Visibilities across parts of Cheyenne county dropped to near zero in the blowing dust. Further north in Kit Carson county visibilities only dropped to between one and two miles. The visibilities improved behind a cold front that moved through during the mid afternoon.
