North wind event produced sustained winds of 15 to 25mph with gusts up to 35 to 45mph for the Southern Sacramento Valley. The power went out for nearly 11,000 customers in Rio Linda and North Highland (northern Sacramento) areas. Additional several hundred power outages were recorded in West Sacramento, Orangevale, and Fair Oaks. Total power outages in the Sacramento metro were estimated to be 16,000 customers due to strong winds. Two of the outages were said to be caused by falling tree limbs.
