.AVIATION...
VFR WILL PREVAIL THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...BUT INCREASING
MOISTURE SHOULD RESULT IN A BRIEF PERIOD OF MVFR CIGS SUNDAY
MORNING. WILL BRING CIGS INTO WACO AROUND 11Z AND INTO THE
METROPLEX AROUND 13Z. THEY SHOULD LIFT AROUND OR AFTER
16Z...WITH GENERALLY LOW VFR CIGS CONTINUING INTO THE AFTERNOON
HOURS. MOISTURE/INSTABILITY IS SUFFICIENT FOR A THREAT OF
CONVECTION TOMORROW...WITH BEST CHANCES FARTHER SOUTH. MAY SEE
SOME SHOWERS BY SUNRISE IN THE WACO AREA. WITH INSTABILITY LIMITED
AND COVERAGE LOW ACROSS THE SOUTH...WILL MENTION VCSH IN LIEU OF
VCTS BUT THIS MAY NEED TO BE CHANGED LATER. FOR THE METROPLEX
INSTABILITY WILL BE HIGHER...BUT COVERAGE LOOKS TOO LOW TO MENTION
VCTS AT THIS TIME...BUT BEST WINDOW FOR THIS IS LATE AFTERNOON.
OTHERWISE SOUTH/SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL PREVAIL AT 10-15KT.

&&

.UPDATE...
ISOLATED SHOWERS MOVING INTO MILAM COUNTY FROM THE SOUTHEAST SHOULD
FALL APART DURING THE NEXT HOUR OR SO AND QUIET WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. WARM AND MUGGY CONDITIONS
ARE IN STORE ACROSS NORTH TEXAS AGAIN TOMORROW WITH A CHANCE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE REGION.
THE CURRENT FORECAST IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO SIGNIFICANT UPDATES
NEEDED AT THIS TIME.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 244 PM CDT SAT JUN 30 2012/
THE UPPER DISTURBANCE OVER SOUTH TEXAS CONTINUES TO DRIFT SLOWLY WEST
THIS AFTERNOON. TO THE NORTHEAST OF DISTURBANCE IS WHERE RICH GULF
MOISTURE IS BEING TRANSPORTED NORTHWEST TOWARD NORTH TEXAS. A
BROAD AREA OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS EXTENDED FROM SOUTHWEST
LOUISIANA INTO THE LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND NORTHEAST MEXICO.
THE ATMOSPHERE IS RELATIVELY MOIST ADIABATIC WITH MID LEVEL LAPSE
NOT VERY STEEP...THUS SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED. A FEW
SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE ALREADY APPROACHING AREAS FROM CAMERON TO
CENTERVILLE WITH FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND SOME POTENTIAL FOR GUSTY
WINDS...DUE TO DRIER MID LEVELS ACROSS NORTH TEXAS VERSUS SOUTH
TEXAS. THIS DRY MID LEVEL AIR CAN ENHANCE EVAPORATIVE COOLING AND
SOME DOWNDRAFT WIND POTENTIAL WITH STRONGER STORMS ON THE LEADING
EDGE INTO THE EARLY EVENING. BEST POTENTIAL FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS
AND STORMS WILL BE SOUTHEAST OF A LAMPASAS...WACO...PALESTINE LINE
UNTIL SUNSET WHEN LOSS OF HEATING WILL RESULT IN A RAPID DOWNTREND
IN ACTIVITY.

SUNDAY LOOKS LIKE OUR BEST BET FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS
AS DEEP MOISTURE TRANSPORT SURGES NORTH. BEST RAIN CHANCES WILL
REMAIN SOUTH OF I-20...THOUGH EVEN ISOLATED STORMS COULD OCCUR
NORTH OF I-20. WITH NO FOCUS AT THE SURFACE OUTSIDE OF A RANDOM
OUTFLOW BOUNDARY OR TWO...WILL NOT RAISE RAIN CHANCES ANY HIGHER
WITH ONLY SUBTLE FORCING FROM THE UPPER DISTURBANCE. TRAINING OF
RELATIVELY SLOW-MOVING CELLS MAY PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL
AND POSSIBLE MINOR FLOODING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF NORTH
TEXAS SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

WE WILL LINGER SLIGHT CHANCES FOR PULSE TYPE SHOWERS AND STORMS
EAST OF I-35 SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY...DESPITE THE SOUTH TEXAS
UPPER DISTURBANCE MOVING WEST ACROSS MEXICO. AN AXIS OF GREATER
THAN 1.5 INCHES PWAT AND AN EMBEDDED WEAKNESS IN THE BROAD UPPER
HIGH MAY INDUCE ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY.

HE UPPER HIGH WILL INTENSIFY OVER NORTH TEXAS THROUGH THE REMAINDER
OF THE WEEK INTO NEXT WEEKEND DRY CONDITIONS RETURNING TO NORTH
TEXAS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND THE CENTURY MARK WILL RETURN AFTER
INDEPENDENCE DAY AND BEYOND.
