An area of low pressure that moved out of the southern Tennessee valley brought a prolonged period of light snow to most of eastern Kentucky on January 14th and 15th. Snowfall amounts averaged between 1 and 3 inches in a strip between the Mountain Parkway and Hal Rogers Parkway, with isolated higher amounts occurring in the higher terrain along the Virginia and West Virginia borders.
