An unusually strong storm system brought damaging winds to northeast Minnesota. The storm set record low barometric pressure readings to Minnesota, which bottomed out near Bigfork. The counterclockwise flow around the system brought very gusty southwest winds which brought down trees and power lines. Two boats were ripped from their moorings in Grand Marais, and the roof of the municipal pool was damaged. Trees were reported blown down along the Gunflint Trail.
