Although land statations did not measure winds above 50 MPH, Sister Island measured a gust to 67 KT at noon on 10/12. Headlands along Icy Strait easily had 70 MPH gusts.

Juneau Airport observed gusts to 55 KT at 1653 AKDT on 10/12 and a peak of 59 KT at 1353 AKDT. This is very strong for the airport. Other observations were in the 60s (MPH). Trees were downed and power outages were frequent and sustained.
