A strong low pressure system brought widespread precipitation to the Northern Plains. Temperatures became cold enough over northwestern South Dakota for snow, and two to six inches of snow fell across Perkins and northern Ziebach County. Wind gusts to 50 mph produced blowing snow and visibilities below a quarter of a mile for several hours.
