Winter Storm, Crawford

The snow began during the overnight hours into the 1st, and continued through the day. The snow became moderate to heavy with visibilities a quarter mile at times during the afternoon hours. By evening, snow spotters measured 9.0 inches in Meadville, 6.9 inches in Canadohta Lake, and 6.0 inches in Linesville. The snow continued through the evening hours and tapered off by daybreak on the 2nd. Many spotters only reported several more inches during the overnight hours into the 2nd. Total snowfall for this event includes 9.5 inches in Edinboro, 7.8 inches in Canadohta Lake, 8.5 inches in Linesville. Many accidents were reported during this event.

Winter Storm, Southern Erie

Snow began across the area during the morning hours of the 1st, and continued through the day. During the afternoon hours, snow was moderate with visibilities around a half mile at times. Winds were also gusty between 30 and 40 mph. By evening, around 5 inches of snow fell across the area. The snow continued through much of the overnight hours before coming to an end during the morning of the 2nd. By the end of the storm many locations measured between 6 and 10 inches. Colt Station reported 7.0 inches of snow and Waterford measured 9.8 inches. Many accidents were reported through this event.

Winter Storm, Northern Erie

Snow developed across the area during the morning hours of the 1st and continued through the day. Snow was moderate at times during the afternoon reducing visibilities to less than a half mile at times. At the Erie Airport, winds gusted to 41 mph during the late afternoon hours causing blowing and drifting of snow. Media reports indicate that during the late afternoon and evening hours Interstate 90 through Erie was barely passable. Numerous accidents occurred across the area during the late afternoon and evening hours. The snow continued into the overnight hours, and by the morning of the 2nd many locations picked up between 5 and 8 inches. Franklin Center measured 7.6 inches, and the Erie Airport measured 5.3 inches.
