.SHORT TERM...
TONIGHT-
UPPER TROUGH WELL DEFINED IN WATER VAPOR IMAGERY DIVING SOUTHEAST
ACROSS WISCONSIN THIS AFTERNOON. PERSISTENT CLUSTER OF STORMS
AHEAD OF THE VORTICITY MAXIMUM HAS TRACKED FROM SOUTHERN CANADA
OVERNIGHT ACROSS NORTHERN MINNESOTA INTO WESTERN WISCONSIN. WITH
DIURNAL HEATING...OTHER THUNDERSTORMS HAVE FORMED BENEATH THE
-14C 500 MB TEMPS AS TEMPS REACHED THE LOWER 80S OVER 55-60 TDS.

INTERESTING PROBLEM WITH ACTIVITY MOVING INTO SOUTHERN WISCONSIN
IS THE PERSISTENT MID/HIGH CLOUDS THAT HAVE HINDERED DIURNAL
HEATING SOMEWHAT WITH READINGS A FEW DEGREES BELOW EXPECTED HIGHS.
THIS WILL LIMIT THE COVERAGE SOME LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING AS ACTIVITY MOVES INTO CWA.

EXPECT THESE STORMS TO QUICKLY WEAKEN AFTER 00Z AND PROBABLY BE
GONE BY 2 OR 3Z. THUS...ONLY EARLY EVENING SHOWERS IN THE
FORECAST...AND THAT MAY BE OVERDONE.

THURSDAY-
FLOW TURNS MORE NORTHERLY AND REMAINS RATHER COOL AT 500 MB.
ALTHOUGH AIRMASS CONTINUES TO DRY THROUGH THE DEEPER COLUMN...WILL
STILL BE SOME MEAGER INSTABILITY DURING THE AFTERNOON WITH
HEATING. IN ADDITION...CONVERGENCE ALONG THE LAKE BREEZE MAY
TRIGGER ISOLATED AFTERNOON CONVECTION. LEFT THIS OUT FOR NOW...BUT
NEED TO WATCH FOR THIS.

FRIDAY-
SURFACE HIGH MOVES ACROSS WITH QUIET WEATHER EXPECTED.

SATURDAY-
UNCERTAINTY STARTS TO CREEP IN A LITTLE BIT. 00Z RUN OF ECMWF HAD
WEAK DISTURBANCE OVER THE FOUR CORNERS TURNING EAST ACROSS IOWA
DURING THE WEEKEND. 12Z RUN HAS THIS FARTHER SOUTH ACROSS KANSAS
AND MISSOURI. HAVE SATURDAY DRY FOR NOW...BUT WILL HAVE TO KEEP
THIS ON BACK BURNER.

.LONG TERM...
SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY-
GFS AND ECMWF DIVERGE ON HOW DEEP UPPER LOW OVER GREAT LAKES
DEVELOPS BY MID WEEK. SIGNIFICANT TROUGH MOVES INTO PACIFIC
NORTHWEST ON SATURDAY...WHICH IS HANDLED WELL BY BOTH MODELS.
HOWEVER...THEY THEN HANDLE THE EVOLUTION BENEATH THE WEAK OMEGA
BLACK IN NORTH CENTRAL CANDIDA IN DIFFERENT FASHION.

BOTTOM LINE IS THAT NOT MUCH DETAIL ABOUT PRECIPITATION TIMING CAN
BE OFFERED AND A SHOTGUN APPROACH OF LOW POPS IS ABOUT THE BEST WE
CAN DO. DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY THREAT OF HOT WEATHER OVER THE
NEXT WEEK.

&&

.AVIATION...WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD AFFECT
KMSN AND KMKE FROM LATE AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING...AS SURFACE
COLD FRONT AND SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVE THROUGH THE AREA. WILL GO WITH
VICINITY THUNDER WORDING FOR NOW...GIVEN UNCERTAINTY WITH EXPECTED
TIMING AND PLACEMENT. JUST A CB MENTION WITH THE CLOUD GROUP AT
KENW. PREVAILING VFR CONDITIONS EXPECTED...THOUGH MVFR VISIBILITIES
AND CEILINGS IN STORM DOWNDRAFTS POSSIBLE. ACTIVITY SHOULD END BY
MID EVENING...WITH LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING. HIGH PRESSURE TO
MAINTAIN VFR CONDITIONS FOR THE REST OF THE PERIOD.
