AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HONOLULU HI 1000 AM HST FRI APR 25 2008 .SYNOPSIS... A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE OVER THE ISLANDS TODAY WILL WEAKEN THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THE HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL REDEVELOP FAR TO THE NORTH OF THE STATE OVER THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL BRING LIGHT TO MODERATE TRADES BACK TO THE ISLANDS ON SATURDAY WHICH WILL CONTINUE THROUGH NEXT WEEK. && .DISCUSSION... A WEAK COLD FRONT REMAINS NORTH OF KAUAI TODAY. THE AIRMASS WILL BE MOIST AND SOMEWHAT UNSTABLE THIS AFTERNOON. WEAK CONVERGENCE NEAR THE FRONT BOUNDARY WILL PROVIDE THE BEST CHANCE FOR ORGANIZED SHOWER BANDS OVER KAUAI TODAY AND TONIGHT. ELSEWHERE...LACK OF SYNOPTIC SCALE DYNAMICS WILL RESULT IN BE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS FOCUSED MAINLY ON THE MOUNTAINS DURING THE AFTERNOON HEATING.
