On the thirtieth a frontal system moved near Dixon Entrance which caused warm moist air to briefly move over the arctic air in the Inner Channels.

The trained spotter at the forest service office in Petersburg measured 6.5 inches of new snow that fell from 0700 to 1220 on the thirtieth. Another spotter in Petersburg measured 7.5 inches of new snow from 0700 to 1500 on the thirtieth.
