The episode as NWS PHI wrote it up.

An unseasonably warm and humid airmass was over the Mid Atlantic region during the 19th. A strong area of low pressure moved into southeastern Canada during the afternoon, and a strong cold front associated with it approached and moved through the Mid Atlantic and Northeast in the evening. As a result, numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms developed. There was plenty of wind energy above the surface, therefore some of the isolated thunderstorms and even heavier showers produced strong wind gusts.

AT 25 MPH.

THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING THROUGH THE GREATER
PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN AREA AND MOST OF NEW JERSEY BETWEEN NOW
AND 1 AM OVERNIGHT. THE LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAS HAD A
HISTORY OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS OF BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH WHICH WILL
PULL DOWN SOME WEAK TREE LIMBS, LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAIN OF UP TO
ONE INCH WITHIN AN HOUR.

A squall line of strong to severe thunderstorm tore down several trees throughout Hunterdon County. The worst reported damage was in East Amwell Township. The east and west walls of a new barn under construction collapsed. On Deer Run Farm near Clover Hill on Amwell Road, many trees were snapped or knocked down. One downed tree damaged a pickup truck.

A severe thunderstorm badly damaged trees in the Jockey Hollow Encampment area within Mendham Township. About thirty to forty trees were either snapped or uprooted in the area. Four buildings (two log cabins, two pavilions) suffered missile damage from fallen branches penetrating the structures. There were no injuries as the camping area was not in use. The same severe thunderstorm caused wind damage in adjoining Morris Township. Trees were knocked down on Harter Road and Frederick Place. Downed trees blocked one resident's driveway.
