A storm system over the desert southwest Tuesday evening, January 30th, moved rapidly northeast through Oklahoma and parts of southern Kansas early Wednesday, January 31st. This brought a round of light to moderate snow to parts of south central Kansas Wednesday morning and afternoon.

A storm system over the desert southwest Tuesday evening, January 30th, moved rapidly northeast through Oklahoma and parts of southern Kansas early Wednesday, January 31st. This brought a round of light to moderate snow to parts of south central Kansas Wednesday morning and afternoon. Basically, two to four inches of snow fell southeast of a line from Meade to Bloom to 5 miles south of Pratt. In Barber County, 6 inches of snowfall was reported 8 miles north of Medicine Lodge, while 5 inches was reported in Sun City.
