The first widespread 100 degree temperatures of the season occurred across Southeast Arizona on May 13th and 14th. High temperatures in many of the deserts west of Tucson approached 105F.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s office found two bodies, one of an illegal border crosser and another body that may or may not have been an illegal entrant. The bodies were found on Saturday, May 12th near Sunland Gin Road and West Harmon Road near Eloy, Arizona.|
Saturday morning May 13th around 11 a.m., Border Patrol agents northeast of Sasabe found the body of a 20 to 25 year-old man from Puebla, Mexico. The man was believed to have died within the last couple of days.|Border Patrol agents found on Monday, May 14th the decomposing body of a suspected illegal entrant west of Sasabe who was believed to be a 16 year old Chiapas boy.
As the offices recorded each death: direct deaths were caused by the weather itself, indirect ones by something it set in motion.
