An active tropical wave moved across Puerto Rico and produced strong gusty winds as well as heavy showers and squalls. The morning weather balloon wind report and the Doppler wind profile measured significant winds. A wind advisory was in effect for sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts reaching 40 to 45 mph. Downed power lines, poles and trees were reported across the eastern half of the Island during the day.
