A low pressure system moved northeast from the Ohio Valley into eastern Canada, brining rain to the region. Behind the storm system, much colder air was pulled into Upstate New York.

A low pressure system moved northeast from the Ohio Valley into eastern Canada, brining rain to the region. Behind the storm system, much colder air was pulled into Upstate New York. The colder air over the warmer waters of Lake Ontario brought a period of heavy lake effect snow east of the lake. Higher snow totals included 11.0 inches in Cazenovia, Madison County, 9.0 inches at Oriskany Falls in Oneida County, and 9.0 inches in Tully in Onondaga County.
