A very strong upper level storm system tracked from southern Oklahoma into southeast Missouri, from November 30th through December 1st.|Gulf of Mexico moisture was delivered north into the cold air, and snow developed and moved across the area on the afternoon of the 30th. The snows came to an end, early on December 1st.|The accumulating snow was south of a Tonganoxie to Kansas City, Kansas line. Only trace amounts were observed north of that line. South of that line, the snow ranged from around 2 inches at Kansas City, Kansas, to around a foot at Mound City in Linn county.
