A storm system which exited New England, moved through the Gulf of Maine the night of December 29, and into the Canadian Maritimes the day of December 30. Residual moisture resulted in freezing rain changing to snow in the Champlain Valley of Vermont the night of the 29th of December.

Residual moisture resulted in freezing rain changing to snow in the Champlain Valley of Vermont the night of the 29th of December. Accumulations were light, with generally 2 to 4 inches in both Franklin and Chittenden counties and around 3 inches in Lamoille county. Elsewhere across Vermont accumulations were 2 inches or less.
