A Davis County man was caught in an avalanche in Hells Canyon near the Snowbasin Ski Resort when he and the four other people he was with triggered the slide. Preston Neiderhauser, 26, was downhill skiing in an out-of-bounds area near Snowbasin with four friends before setting off the slide.

Neiderhauser escaped with cuts and bruises with no major injuries.
