Heavy rainfall of up to four inches caused widespread street flooding, especially on the west side of Mitchell. At least 10 vehicles stalled in high water. At least 12 homes and businesses were flooded, as well as several lower level apartments. The basement of one apartment building was flooded by 10 feet of water, knocking out boilers and a hot water heater.
