CONVECTION OVER CENTRAL OHIO IS BECOMING MORE INTENSE ATTM AS WATER
VAPOR IMAGERY SHOWS SOME MID LEVEL DRYING MOVING NORTHWARD. VISIBLE
IMAGERY SHOWS THAT THE LAKE BREEZE HAS WORKED INLAND OVER NE OHIO
AND NW PA. RECENT RUC ANALYSIS SHOWS CAPE NEAR 2500 J/KG OVER
CENTRAL OHIO WITH LESSER AMOUNTS DOWN TO 1000 J/KG NEAR LAKE ERIE.
O-6 KM SHEAR IS 10 TO 20 KNTS. WITH DRY AIR AT MID LEVELS AND LOW
SHEAR, EXPECT PULSE TYPE STORMS TO CONTINUE WITH THE POSSIBLITY OF
WET DOWNBURSTS. STORM MOVEMENT IS SLOW SO SOME LOCATIONS WILL
RECEIVE HEAVY RAIN WITH SOME FLOOD POTENTIAL. THIS ACTIVITY WILL
LIKELY DIMINISH NEAR SUNSET SO WILL LOWER POPS FROM THE MAV GUIDANCE
TO CHANCE WITH THE LEAST POPS NEAR LAKE ERIE. THE SHORT WAVE THAT IS
HELPING TO PRODUCE THIS ACTIVITY IS LOCATED OVER CENTRAL OHIO AND
WILL MOVE SLOWLY NORTHEAST TNGT. SCT TSTM/RW ARE STILL POSSIBLE WED
WITH A DIMINISHED CHANCE WED NGT. THURSDAY LOOKS MORE FAVORABLE AS A
COLD FRONT BEGINS TO APPROACH THE REGION WITH INCREASED DEEP SHEAR
AND CAPE WITH SOME UVM. MAV POPS ON THU APPEAR TO BE QUITE LOW ATTM
AND WILL DISCOUNT THEM FOR KNOW.

LITTLE CHANGE IN THINKING FOR THE EXTENDED PERIOD FROM YESTERDAY.
ONCE THE COLD FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH THE REGION THURSDAY EVENING A
FAIR AND LESS HUMID AIR MASS WILL BUILD INTO THE REGION FOR THE
HOLIDAY WEEKEND. THE CHANCE FOR PCPN WILL RETURN EARLY NEXT WEEK BUT
APPEARS LIMITED ATTM AS RIDGING DEVELOPS OVER THE EAST.

AFTN TSTM ACTIVITY. WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH THE TSTMS OVR NITE...BUT

Lightning struck an oil well storage tank in New Lyme Township around 6 p.m. A second oil well was struck by lightning at 6:54 p.m. in Rome Township. Fires resulted from both of these strikes. Oil was spilled at both sites and cleanup crews had to be dispatched to contain the spills.

Flash Flood, Cuyahoga

Thunderstorms dumped two to three inches of rain on Broadview Heights in less than 90 minutes. An off duty NWS employee measured 2.24 inches by 7:30 p.m. Extensive lowland and urban flooding occurred in Broadview Heights. Several roads had to be closed because of flood waters up 2 feet deep.

Thunderstorms dumped locally heavy rains on the southern portion of Ashtabula County. An estimated three inches of rain fell in the Andover area. Extensive flooding occurred in Andover with several streets, including U.S. Highway 6 briefly closed. Flood waters greater than 6 inches deep were also reported in Orwell.
