Arctic air deepened across the area on the 17th. As night fell the instability over land waned but lake snow bands consolidated near the lake shores. Off Lake Erie, reports included 11" at Ellicottville, 9" at Stockton, 8" at Perrysburg, and 7" at South Dayton. Off Lake Ontario, 10" fell at Phoenix and 8" was reported from Fair Haven and Hannibal.
