Snow began overnight of the 13th into the 14th and ended mid morning on the 15th. Snowfall amounts ranged from 10 to 13 inches in far inland areas of the Minnesota Arrowhead and eastern Iron Range to 23 and 26 inches along the higher terrain of the north shore of Lake Superior in places such as Finland and Silver Bay. Other amounts included 12" at Lutsen, 10.5" at Little Marais, close to the lake, 26.5" 7 miles north of Two Harbors, and 15.8" at the Duluth NWS. On December 14th a new daily snowfall record of 13.2 inches was set at Duluth. Schools were closed on the 14th in Duluth and all along the north shore.
