What happened

The episode as NWS CAR wrote it up.

The remnants of Hurricane Wilma tracking east of the region and a second low intensifying while tracking north along the coast brought strong winds to the region. Wind gusts of 55 to 65 mph were reported near the immediate coast. The strong winds were most persistent across coastal Washington county. The combination of strong winds and saturated ground from several weeks of heavy rain allowed trees to be blown down along with many branches. The falling trees and branches also brought down powerlines which resulted in many power outages for varying amounts of time during the storm.
