Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
The remnants of Hurricane Wilma tracking east of the region and a second low intensifying while tracking north along the coast brought strong winds to the region. Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph were reported near the immediate coast...with 30 to 40 mph gusts across interior Downeast areas. The combination of strong winds and saturated ground from several weeks of heavy rain allowed trees to be blown down along with many branches. The falling trees and branches also brought down powerlines which resulted in many power outages. Several thousand customers lost power for varying amounts of time during the storm.
