An arctic cold front pushed through western Montana and into north central Idaho, producing heavy snow and strong gusty winds. 24 hour total snowfall amounts ranged from 4 to 6 inches in the valleys of the northern Clearwater Mountains, up to one foot in the mountains. Wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph reduced visibility in blowing snow. In the southern Clearwater Mountains, 24 hour snowfall totals ranged from 8 inches in the valleys to 12 to 14 inches in the mountains. Wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph caused reduced visibility in blowing snow.
