Winter Weather in New Jersey, February 20 to 21, 2004
A weak warm front that moved toward northwest New Jersey during the night of the 20th produced some light freezing rain and pockets of sleet, especially over the higher terrain. Air temperatures in valley locations were generally above freezing and only some sleet occurred at the start of precipitation during the late evening.

A weak warm front that moved toward northwest New Jersey during the night of the 20th produced some light freezing rain and pockets of sleet, especially over the higher terrain. Air temperatures in valley locations were generally above freezing and only some sleet occurred at the start of precipitation during the late evening. Untreated roadways became slippery. Ice accretions on exposed surfaces were generally less than five hundredths of an inch. In Lincoln Park (Morris County), the sleet covered the ground during the late evening of the 20th.
