WEST CENTRAL TEXAS FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN ANGELO TX
337 AM CDT SAT AUG 30 2003

RAIN PERSISTED OVERNIGHT ACROSS OUR NORTHWEST COUNTIES...THAT RAIN
SHOULD FIZZLE OUT BY SUNRISE...HOWEVER WITH AREAS OF AN INCH OR MORE
OF RAIN AND ADDITIONAL RAIN LIKELY TODAY WILL ISSUE A FLASH FLOOD
WATCH FOR WESTERN COUNTIES OF THE BIG COUNTRY AND CONCHO VALLEY.
OUR FF WATCH DOVETAILS NICELY WITH MAF...LBB AND OUN. WILL NOT
INCLUDE POPULATION CENTERS OF ABI AND SJT. THO AS THINGS DEVELOP
THROUGH THE DAY THE DAY CREW WILL LIKELY MODIFY THE FLASH FLOOD
WATCH.

VERY SLOW MOVING SYSTEM WILL CREATE SEVERAL FORECAST ISSUES. MAX
TEMPS...FLOOD WATCHES...AND POSSIBLY SLIDING RAIN FURTHER INTO THE
HOLIDAY WEEKEND TO NAME A FEW.

AS OVERNIGHT RAIN DIES OFF...THE MAIN BULK OF RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH
THE FRONT STILL REMAINS WELL TO OUR NORTH...AS A RESULT WE COULD SEE
DRIER AND WARMER CONDITIONS TODAY THAN PREVIOUSLY ANTICIPATED. SO
HAVE TWEAKED POPS DOWN A BIT AND INCREASED MAX TEMPS FOR MOST AREAS
TODAY. WITH THE FRONT ACROSS WEST CENTRAL TEXAS TONIGHT POPS WILL
BE HI THROUGHOUT...WILL STRETCH POPS NUMBERS A BIT MORE INTO
SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY...MY CONCERN IS THAT THE FRONT MAY STALL
AND PUSH RAIN INTO LABOR DAY...BUT AT THIS POINT HAVE TOO MANY FISH
FRYING SO WILL KEEP CURRENT FORECAST IDEA THAT MONDAY WILL BE OK.

DIDNT HAVE TIME TO MESS WITH EXTENDED SO LATER PART OF THE FORECAST
REMAINS UNCHANGED.
