A cold front moved into northwestern South Dakota during the early afternoon hours. Thunderstorms developed along the front and persisted as the front moved across northwestern South Dakota. Numerous reports of dime to quarter sized hail and wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph were reported. The winds broke 4 inch diameter tree limbs as a storm passed Red Owl in central Meade County.
