A non-thunderstorm high wind event occurred during the 13th and into the early morning hours on the 14th. High winds knocked down large trees along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Alleghany County, toppled numerous trees 4 miles north of Jefferson in Ashe County, and knocked down a few trees 5 miles north of Dobson.

Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
