LIFT OCCURING WITH CONV/DIV COUPLET. MODELS FORECAST SIMILAR PATTERN
ON TUESDAY AND WED WITH BEST FOCUSING OVER SIERRA FROM TAHOE SWD AND
ISOLD MAINLY OVR MTNS ELSEWHERE. UPPER HIGH REMAINS OVER NV INTO WED
WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPS AND LIGHT WINDS. REMNANT MOISTURE FM SRN CA
AND ARIZONA WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT AROUND PERIPHERY OF NV HIGH CELL
CLIPPING MAINLY THE SRN AND CENTRAL SIERRA AS IT MOVES NWWD. BY WED
NIGHT FLOW BECOMING MORE SLY WITH CLOUDS SPREADING OVER MUCH OF CWA
ALONG WITH POSSIBLE ISOLATED SHOWERS ALONG SIERRA. ON THURSDAY UPR HI
CENTER MOVES EWD INTO UTAH WITH COOLING ALOFT BREAKING SUBSIDENCE
CAP ALONG WITH BETTER TRAJECTORY OF MOISTURE AND VORT MAXES INTO
AREA. MODELS GENERATE AROUND A QUARTER OF AN INCH QPF OVER SIERRA
FROM SRN LASSEN S INTO MONO COUNTY BY THU PM WITH AROUND A TENTH
INTO WRN NV VALLEYS S OF I80. WILL INCREASE CLOUDS AND POPS THURSDAY
AND LOWER TEMPS DUE TO CLOUDS AND THICKNESS COOLING. WILL KEEP POPS
IN 40-50 PCT RANGE THURSDAY FOR SIERRA BUT COULD GO HIGHER IF MODELS
LATER BEGIN TO SHOW RUN TO RUN CONSISTENCY. CYLKE

IN THE EXTENDED...FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY...
LONG RANGE MODELS CONTINUE TO SHOW A STRONG RIDGE OVER THE WESTERN
CONUS THROUGH THE EXTENDED.  UPPER TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC
STARTS TO MOVE NORTH IN RESPONSE TO THE RIDGE BUILDING BACK TO THE
WEST.  SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL CONTINUE OVER THE KREV CWFA FRIDAY AND
SATURDAY.  THIS WILL ADVECT MOISTURE INTO THE REGION.  THE TROUGH
OVER THE REGION WILL ALSO HELP TO ENHANCE LOW LEVEL INSTABILITY.
WILL CONTINUE SLIGHT CHANCE OF TSRA FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND ON INTO
SUNDAY AS TROUGH MOVES TO SIERRA.  AS HIGH BUILDS IN ON MONDAY
TROUGH WILL WEAKEN SUBSTANTIALLY.  WILL GO WITH A DRY FORECAST FOR
MONDAY.  LATEST GFS IS ADVERTIZING DAYTIME TEMPERATURES NEAR THE
MIDDLE 80S BY SATURDAY.  EVEN WITH CLOUD COVER BELIEVE THIS IS TOO
COOL WITH THE SOUTHERLY FLOW OVER THE REGION.  WILL CONTINUE WITH
HIGHS NEAR 90.  OHARA

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR WESTERN NEVADA...THE EASTERN
SIERRA AND NORTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND PERSIST
THROUGH THE EVENING. THE STORMS WILL MAINLY BE FOCUSED ALONG THE
SIERRA CREST BUT WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE EAST OF THE SIERRA LATER
IN THE AFTERNOON. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE THAT THUNDERSTORM
ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE AFTER DARK NORTH OF LAKE TAHOE. HEAVY RAINFALL
WITH EXCESSIVE RUNOFF...LARGE HAIL...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND STRONG
WINDS CAUSING BLOWING DUST MAY ACCOMPANY THESE STORMS.

THE MOIST AND UNSTABLE PATTERN CONTINUES GIVING THE AREA A CHANCE OF
AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE PERIOD.
