Canadian high pressure settled into Florida and dropped overnight low temperatures to 20 degrees below normal across inland areas. A weather station near Inverness reported a low of 30 degrees which broke the previous record of 34 set in 1987, normal is 53. Temperatures in the upper 20s were found near the Withlacooche river along the Sumter county border. This area reported 5 to 7 hours of below freezing temperatures while temperatures touched freezing for one or two hours elsewhere.
