155 PM CDT MON MAY 27 2002

CURRENT CONVECTION WILL CONTINUE TRACKING EAST AIDED BY A JET STREAK
AND 700 MB TROUGH.  WINDS ALOFT, GRADUALLY SHIFTING TO THE
NORTHWEST, WILL SEND A COLD FRONT INTO SOUTH TEXAS WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
WILL RUN A RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS UNTIL FRONTAL PASSAGE.  AN
UPPER LOW WILL SKIRT ACROSS EASTERN COUNTIES AFTER FROPA KEEPING
CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THAT AREA THROUGH FRIDAY.
ULTIMATE TRACK OF THIS UPPER LOW WILL DETERMINE AERIAL COVERAGE OF
RESIDUAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. BIG BUBBLE HIGH NEAR TEXAS
PANHANDLE SATURDAY WILL KEEP CONDITIONS STABLE THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
RAIN COOLED MINS WILL RUN 5 TO 10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL TONIGHT AND
TUESDAY NIGHT.  AFTER FROPA, EXPECT MAX TEMPS NEAR NORMAL AND MIN
TEMPS BELOW NORMAL.

A WEATHER SYSTEM PASSING NORTH OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON
MAY CAUSE WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS FOR THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY EAST
TO THE AUSTIN AREA THIS AFTERNOON.

FURTHER WEST...THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ALL READY FORMED WEST OF
VAL VERDE COUNTY...AND ARE MOVING EAST.  THIS THUNDERSTORM
COMPLEX IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEXT UPPER AIR DISTURBANCE...
THAT IS FORECAST TO MOVE EAST AND CAUSE AN INCREASING CHANCE
OF THUNDERSTORMS FOR THE HILL COUNTRY AND SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS
MAY BE SEVERE.

SPOTTER NETWORKS MAY NEED TO BE ACTIVATED AS THE THUNDERSTORMS MOVE

The Williamson County Sheriff's Department reported trees knocked down and roofs blown off homes in the Andice area. In addition, a trailer home was blown off its foundation. Wind gusts in the downburst were estimated at between 55 and 65 knots.
