MIDDLE TN IN THE PRESSURE COOKER. 850 MB TEMP WAS 19 DEGREES...A DEG
HIGHER THAN IT WAS YESTERDAY MORNING.

BELIEVE CURRENT ZFP, ALLOWING FOR AFTERNOON HIGHS IN THE MID

Spotter reported numerous trees were blown down around town. There was some roof damage to homes. There was damage to a church just west of Woodbury. News article reported that Higgins Flea Market, which was under construction, was destroyed. There was damage to the Higgins Car Wash and Mini Storage adjacent to the Flea Market site. Winds blew off a section of the roof from the Cannon Community Church, Smith Funeral Home, and several storage buildings directly across the road from the Higgins property. Also, a tree was blown down into the rear of the First Baptist Church. A fallen tree destroyed the back porch to a home on 221 E. High St.

A newspaper article reported that lightning struck the Dekalb County Sheriff's Department through the 911-radio antenna. The bolt knocked out several computer systems and phone lines. Lightning also struck a barn near Liberty, causing a fire. The barn was completely destroyed.
