NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PENDLETON OR

LATEST SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS A LARGE DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE
ENCOMPASSING THE WESTERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY. A WEAK DISTURBANCE
MOVING NORTHWARD ALONG THE WESTERN BOUNDARY OF THE HIGH PRESSURE
AREA IS BEGINNING TO MOVE INTO SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON.

TONIGHT...MIDDLE AND UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE
DISTURBANCE ARE CREATING ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE
EASTERN SLOPES OF THE OREGON CASCADES AND CENTRAL MOUNTAINS. THE
STORMS WILL DIMINISH AFTER MIDNIGHT AS THE ATMOSPHERE BRIEFLY
STABILIZES. ON SATURDAY ANOTHER STRONGER...MORE UNSTABLE AND MOIST
DISTURBANCE WILL PASS THROUGH THE EASTERN OREGON AND WASHINGTON AND
CREATE AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS. THE CLOUD COVER WILL PREVENT
SATURDAYS HIGHS FROM RISING ABOVE FRIDAYS LEVELS. HOWEVER...IT WILL
BE HOT. ON SUNDAY...A MARINE PUSH WILL BRING COOLER TEMPERATURES AND
BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS ACROSS MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA. HENRY

EXTENDED...BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE OVER THE WASHINGTON
CASCADES AND THE GORGE THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT AS MORE STABLE AIR MOVES
INTO THE AREA. THE UPPER RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO
MOVE EAST OVER THE CENTRAL U.S. WHICH WILL PUT US IN A SOUTHWESTERLY
FLOW. SOME MOISTURE IN ASSOCIATION WITH A DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE
NORTHEASTWARD WITHIN THIS FLOW ON TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. IF
ANYTHING IT WILL ONLY AFFECT THE FAR EASTERN MOUNTAINS...BUT THE
TIMING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THE MOISTURE AND MAIN INSTABILITY...SO AT
MOST THERE WILL JUST BE A FEW MORE CLOUDS. JR

.KPDT...A RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE CENTRAL OREGON MOUNTAINS FOR DRY
LIGHTNING FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.
