The Neosho River near Commerce rose above its flood stage of 15 feet at 6 pm cdt on June 13th. The river crested at 17.5 feet at 1 am cdt on June 15th. The river fell below its flood stage at 9 pm cdt on the same day.

NORTHERN END OF MCS THAT HAS BEEN PUSHING ACROSS THE AREA TODAY NOW
SWEEPING THROUGH SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA ZONES.  SYSTEM WILL QUICKLY BE
EXITING THE AREA OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.  ALSO HAVE A SECONDARY
CLUSTER OF SHRA/TSRA THAT HAS FORMED THIS AFTERNOON OVER SE KS/SW MO
THAT IS CLIPPING FAR NORTHEASTERN PART OF THE AREA.  WILL MAINTAIN
SOME LOW POPS FOR THE 1ST PERIOD TONIGHT...BUT EMPHASIS ON QUIETER
WEATHER OVER THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS AS PRECIP CHANCES MOVE OFF TO THE
SOUTH AND EAST AND SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES IN FOR FRIDAY AND
SATURDAY.

NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE FORECAST BEGINNING LATE SATURDAY AS
ANOTHER MCS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN NORTHWESTERLY FLOW REGIME AT THAT
TIME.  WILL CONTINUE WITH POPS FOR SUNDAY/MONDAY AS NORTHWEST FLOW
PATTERN CONTINUES.

TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY LOOK DRY WITH WARMING TEMPS AS UPPER RIDGE
BUILDS INTO THE AREA.

   AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS...

THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH EAST AND
SOUTHEAST INTO PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
THIS AFTERNOON. INDIVIDUAL STORMS MAY PRODUCE HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF
QUARTERS AND WIND GUSTS TO 70 MILES AN HOUR. THE RISK OF SEVERE
WEATHER WILL END THIS EVENING WITH THE LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THE EARLY
EVENING HOURS.

.DISCUSSION...
AMPLE SUNSHINE ACROSS SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS THIS
MORNING HAS RESULTED IN A MODERATELY UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON. THUNDERSTORMS CURRENTLY ACROSS NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA  WILL
MOVE EAST SOUTHEAST...EVENTUALLY TAPPING INTO THE INSTABILITY
(LIFTED INDICES -5 TO -8) OVER SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST
ARKANSAS.  ELEVATED INSTABILITY WILL LINGER BEHIND A COLD FRONT THAT
WILL CLEAR THE AREA BY THIS EVENING. THIS MAY ALLOW THUNDERSTORMS TO
CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING. DRIER MORE STABLE AIR WILL WORK INTO THE
AREA FOR TOMORROW.
