208 AM EST WED JUN 19 2002

SHORT TERM DISCUSSION...
TRANQUIL WEATHER PATTERN IN STORE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WITH WARMER
TEMPS CONTINUING TO MOVE IN. OTHER THAN SOME CI FROM OVERNIGHT
CONVECTION...MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT. H85 TEMPS
FROM +14 TO +16 POINT TOWARDS MID 80S FOR MOST LOCATIONS. THINK
FWC TOO AGGRESSIVE ON ITS WARMUP TODAY WITH HIGH OF 90 AT
SBN...MAV/MET MID 80S. CANT RULE OUT A FEW LOCATIONS REACHING THE
UPPER 80S IN THE WEST. THURSDAY LOOKS TO BE EVEN WARMER AS 850 MB
TEMPS PUSH +17. SCT CU EXPECTED TO BRING PARTLY SUNNY SKIES...BUT
NO RAIN. OVERNIGHT LOWS LOOK TO BE IN THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 60S NEXT
COUPLE OF NIGHTS WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE SAME RANGE.

CHALLENGES COMES FOR FRIDAY AS MODELS SHOW WEAKENING FRONT SLOWLY
DROPPING SOUTH INTO THE AREA. UPPER LVL RIDGE HOLDING STRONG
WITH AXIS OVER THE AREA. FRONT APPEARS TO BECOME STATIONARY ACROSS
IL/IN/OH WITH SCT CONVECTION ALONG THE FRONT. MODELS SHOW DEWPOINTS
IN THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 70S POOLING ALONG THE FRONT...CREATING
FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR WDLY SCT TO SCT STORMS FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
WITH NO STEERING WINDS ACROSS THE AREA...STORMS WILL BE SLOW MOVERS.
PWS IN NORTHERN COUNTIES WILL APPROACH 1.75 WITH SOUTHERN 1.25-
1.5. NOT COMPLETELY CONVINCED THAT FRONT WILL MAKE IT THIS FAR
SOUTH...SO WILL LEAVE FORECAST DRY FOR NOW.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
ONLY CHANGE WAS TO DROP POPS ON SUNDAY AS DRY DAY LOOKS TO BE IN
STORE WITH UPR LVL RIDGE FIRMLY IN PLACE OVERHEAD.

.IWX...NONE.
