PRIMARY MECHANISM FOR PRECIP TODAY WILL BE A QUASI-STATIONARY LOW
LEVEL CONVERGENCE AXIS WHICH CURRENTLY EXTENDS FROM NEAR HKY TO RDU
TO ECG. THIS FEATURE IS ENHANCING SHOWERS JUST NORTH OF RWI AT THE
MOMENT. GREATEST MOISTURE TRANSPORT CONTINUES TO BE LOCATED OVER THE
COASTAL PLAIN...SO FLOODING THREAT WILL BE HIGHEST IN THIS AREA.
SHOWER ACTIVITY HAS ALSO BEEN INCREASING IN DAVIDSON AND STANLY
COUNTIES NEAR THE BOUNDARY AND HAS BEEN MOVING LITTLE. THUS
RELUCTANT TO REMOVE THE FLOOD WATCH FROM THE WEST. RUC SHOWS HIGH
OMEGA VALUES PERSISTING OVER THE ENTIRE AREA THROUGH THE DAY. THUS
WILL LEAVE THE WATCH UP IN ALL ZONES.
