AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ST LOUIS MO
200 PM CDT WED JUL 17 2002
WHATS TO SAY THAT HASNT ALREADY BEEN SAID OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR
THE PAST WEEK...SAME LOW DIFFERENT DAY. IN THIS CASE PERSISTANCE IS
THE BEST FORECAST...AT LEAST UNTIL DAY 3.
OVERALL MDLS ARE IN PRETTY GOOD ARGEEMENT WITH THE OVERALL PATTERN.
THE DIFFERENCES DONT REALLY SHOW UP SOME WEATHER STARTS TO SHOW
UP ON DAY 3. THE AVN IS THE MOST AGRESSIVE WITH THE SFC FNT DRIVING
IT INTO CNTRL MO BY 00Z SAT. GIVEN THE CURRENT AND FCST UPR AIR
PATTERN I PREFER THE LESS AGRESSIVE ETA AND BRING THE FNT TO NE MO
AND THEN WEAKEN IT OUT SAT. SCT DIURNAL CONVECTION TO BE THE RULE
THRU THURSDAY...BUT DID KEEP WX MENTIONED IN NERN ZONES THURS NIGHT
GIVEN THE APPROACHING FNT. HIGHEST POPS WL BE FRI ACRS THE AREA.
THE BULK OF THE WEEKEND LOOKS WX FREE AS HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT SETS UP
ACRS THE LOWER 2/3 OF THE COUNTRY. IF THE MRF IS CORRECT...NEXT WEEK
WILL BRING CHANGES AS NW FLOW DEVELOPS AND A STRONG SYSTEM MOVED
INTO THE MIDWEST ON THURS AND FRI. TEMP WISE...FWC GUIDANCE LOOKS
THE BEST AND HAVE EVENED SHAVED THE LOWS A BIT AS PER THE
OBSERVATIONS.
