AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN
345 AM CDT TUE MAY 28 2002

KIND OF A HECTIC MORNING WITH SOME ELEVATED TSRA FIRING IN SCNTL MN.
KMPX VWP SHOWS A PRETTY DECENT LLJ ON THE ORDER OF 35KTS IMPINGING
ON OLD BNDRY IN SRN MN/NRN IA WHICH STILL SHOWS PER MSAS ANALYSIS.
WAA/THETA-E ADV IN ADVANCE OF CNTL PLAINS WAVE ALSO AIDING IN
GROWTH. THESE HAVE BEEN BORDERLINE SVR. LACK OF STORM ORGANIZATION
DUE TO ANEMIC WINDS ALOFT SHOWN IN STORM PULSES AND QUICK COLLAPSES
INTO MULTICELL CLUSTERS. PBLM THIS PACKAGE IS TSRA TDY...TMRW...AND
WARM TEMPS TMRW.

MONEY QUESTION WITH NEXT TWO IMPULSES IS CHANCE OF SVR. WHILE LL
MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO WEAKLY ADVECT IN...WITH SFC DWPTS IN THE
LOW 60S...WIND FIELDS ALOFT RIVAL SOMETHING FROM MID JULY WITH
LITTLE SHEAR PRESENT. WAVE TDY WHICH IS NOW IN WRN DAKS PER WV
PIX...HAS LITTLE SFC REFLECTION...BUT SOME DECENT UVM IN MID LAYERS.
THIS COUPLED WITH STEEPISH LAPSE RATES AND AVBLE MOISTURE SHOULD GET
TSRA GOING IN AFTN IN WEST...AND ACROSS CNTL/EAST LATE THIS
AFTN/EVE. FLY IN OINTMENT IS REMNANT CIRRUS DECK FROM MORNING MCS IN
NEB...AND ITS AFFECTS ON HEATING. WL TRIM TEMPS BACK A BIT. LITTLE
IN THE WAY OF BOUNDARIES TO FOCUS CONVECTION...BUT UPPER FORCING
WITH WAVE SHUD BE ENOUGH. MAY BE SOME SVR THIS AFTN/EVE BUT OVERALL
EXTENT SHUD BE LIMITED WITH NO/LITTLE SHEAR.

WED REALLY WARMS AS LL THERMAL RIDGE PARKS OVR MN. TEMPS WELL INTO
80S...ESP GIVEN DRYING/SUBSIDENCE IN WAKE OF TUE WAVE...AND AHEAD OF
NEXT NRN STREAM IMPULSE RIDING OVER BULGING ROCKIES RIDGE. A MORE
ORGANIZED PUSH OF DRY AIR/CONVERGENCE ENTERS MN IN THE AFTN...AND
PLENTY OF JUICE IN PLACE. BUT BEST FORCING/LL MOISTURE CONVERGENCE
FOCUSED IN NRN MN...SO WILL GO FOR SCT POPS. THINGS MAY FIRE ON NOSE
OF STRONG JET IN ND AND RIDGE RIDE INTO NICE AREA OF THICKNESS
DIFFLUENCE IN SWRN MN IN EVENING. WL NEED TO BE WATCHED.

NO CHANGES TO XTENDED ATTM.
